School Council
Each year, all pupils have the opportunity to vote for who they would like to represent them on the School Council.
The elected representatives serve for one year and meet regularly to share ideas, discuss important issues, and suggest ways to make our school even better.
Our School Council plays an active role in school life — from helping to organise charity events such as Children in Need, to taking part in the interview process for new teaching staff. Council members hold their own interviews with candidates and provide valuable feedback to the main interview panel.
Being part of the School Council is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop confidence, leadership skills, and pride in helping shape the Chapel Green community.
Last Year, Our School Council:
-
Organised and ran a Bake Sale in support of Children in Need
-
Set up a fun Easter Egg Hunt, carefully hiding eggs around the school grounds
-
Came up with creative Comic Relief activities for classes, including crafts, discos, and parties
-
Hosted a second-hand uniform sale to support our school community

School Council Core Team
For Children in Need this year, the Core Team took the lead in promoting the day across the school. They planned, designed, acted, filmed, and edited their very own video — all by themselves!
Here’s the finished product that was shared with classes:

The School Council members did a fantastic job supporting Children in Need. They visited every class to kindly collect donations from pupils and staff. Their enthusiasm and dedication helped make the fundraising a great success. Well done, everyone!

Everyone had lots of fun taking part in activities for Red Nose Day. The School Council helped collect donations across the school, and everyone was encouraged to show off their biggest smiles—some of which have been captured on camera for you to enjoy.
Students also got creative by designing their own Red Noses. Some chose to sketch their ideas on paper, while others brought their designs to life using biscuits or real noses, proudly showcasing their creations.
Many students came to school in non-uniform or wore something red to show their support for the event. It was a fun-filled day, rounded off with an assembly to raise awareness. Classes fully embraced the occasion and got enthusiastically involved.
