Buttercup Class

The Buttercup teacher is Emma  

We are a group of 10 pupils aged from 6-9 years. Emma is the full-time teacher and Abby covers Emma's PPA time on a Tuesday. We are supported by a team of Teaching Assistants and members of the Physical and Sensory Support team.

Some of our pupils follow the Engagement Model and learn via a sensory and communication approach. Our other pupils follow our bespoke tailored curriculum and are progressing through the Pre-Formal Plus route or the Semi-Formal route. Alongside this, all pupils are supported to work on their EHCP learning outcomes. Lots of our learning and photos are recorded on Earwig for our families to see.

The classroom reflects the topics we are working on that half term and we also have continuous provision whereby the pupils can access resources and engage in independent exploration and learning. 

We have a group sensory room and direct access to the outside area with play equipment which we access every day. We also enjoy Hydrotherapy /swimming, Rebound Therapy, Forest School, sensory room sessions and much more. We love special days and events including class trips.
