Pupils are grouped in mixed ability age groups (KS3). 

Where appropriate pupils are taught in small groups throughout the week, depending on their interests, personal needs and learning styles. 

We have fun through play and practical activities. You will see us working hard in class and we like to visit the local community for swimming, leisure and life skills when possible.  We use a total communication approach to support pupils, and social and emotional conversations are part of our daily diet. 

This term, our topic is On The Move,  half term our focus is ‘Britain as the first industrial nation (1745-1901)’ followed by ‘Earth and the Atmosphere ’ next half term. We will be discovering stories linked to transport including The Railway Children and non fiction travel writing then poetry. We explore Countries beyond Europe and Waves (sound and light) linked to Science. Our RE focus this term is Buddhism and we will discover artefacts and festivals as well as learn about rituals.
