Maple Class

Class Teachers: Hanna (Monday - Thursday) and Vicki (Friday) Assistants: Hannah (Wed-Fri)

Maple class is made up of Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 pupils. We follow a semi-formal and formal pathway, which is centred around the child and the areas that they need to develop as well as providing an age-related knowledge offer to ensure students have a broad and balanced curriculum. We have a strong focus on preparation for adulthood and students work towards their chosen potential destinations. Students work towards TITAN travel training outcomes, ASDAN accreditations in Life Skills and Personal and Social Development and some students work towards Functional Skills qualifications in maths and literacy. We work on preparing them for sitting exams and building their confidence around communication and literacy and maths and problem solving. As we are preparing for our next steps, Maple skills spend time in the community, building on their life skills and collaboratively working with the Upper School department to complete Enterprise projects.
