Dear Parents / Carers,
On May 25th 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation came into effect across the EU. It is a law to ensure all data held and processed by organisations within the EU / UK is secure and processed lawfully.

Public organisations including schools are required to comply with GDPR. At Chapel Green School we continually work to improve our data processing and security measures.

Work of the DPO includes:
- Developing and supporting staff to follow policies and procedures
- Providing training for school staff
- Overseeing data security, maintaining records of any breaches and liaising with those who a breach may effect
- Reporting any breach to the authorities in line with ICO guidance
We are working on our practice to ensure that GDPR is central to our day-to-day culture. We already highly value and protect all of our pupil, parent and staff data and are continuing to do so.
As a parent/carer you will receive an annual letter from us regarding data associated with yourself and your child. Please do read and send back everything you receive.
